Oliver Griffith

President

Oliver Griffith is a dedicated student leader with a passion for uplifting students from all backgrounds. Born and raised in the small rural town of Centerburg, Ohio, Oliver knows firsthand the challenges students from underrepresented communities face when transitioning to large institutions like Ohio State University. Coming from a high school where few students pursue higher education, he experienced a profound culture shock upon arriving at OSU. However, instead of letting that be a barrier, he turned it into a driving force for change.

As a Biomedical Engineer major, Oliver’s journey at THE Ohio State University reshaped his mission. Through his work with officials from the Ohio Department of Higher Education, he identified key institutional disadvantages that limit opportunities for students from rural backgrounds. This experience inspired him to shift his focus toward education policy and student advocacy, working to create pathways for students to access both higher education and career training.

Oliver is also a proud member of Air Force ROTC at Ohio State, where he has built leadership skills, discipline, and a commitment to service that guide his work on campus. Through ROTC, he’s learned the value of teamwork and accountability—qualities he now brings to advocating for his fellow Buckeyes. His experience balancing academics, service, and leadership training reflects his dedication to making Ohio State a stronger, safer, and more supportive community for all students.

Oliver’s campaign for Student Body President is built on a vision of empowerment, inclusivity, and opportunity. His goal is to ensure that every student—regardless of where they come from—has the resources, support, and voice they need to succeed. Whether it’s expanding access to career programs, improving institutional support for rural and urban students alike, or fostering a more inclusive campus community, Oliver is committed to making Ohio State a place where all students can thrive.

Now, he’s ready to take the next step in advocating for students as your next Student Body President.
